((Aftermath of this and this.))

SHODAN had forcefully ejected Tieria from the system, although not before wreacking havoc on his neural relays. The shock rendered him unconscious, and he now lay drifting in the zero-g of Veda's interface room. Warning alarms continued to sound with polite concern, while emergency back-up systems struggled their way online.

The restricted access area doors, usually closed to anyone without the proper clearance (anyone who wasn't Tieria, that is), were now open, and the dark corridors were bathed in a dim orange light.

"..." Setsuna looked up, blinking in surprise. He hadn't expected to see Sumeragi here. He allowed the handrail to carry him towards her, letting go of it a few feet away from her and putting his hand on the wall to brace himself. "...Yes. Something's not right." He didn't elaborate; presumably Sumeragi had seen the various posts on the community and had decided to check up on Tieria too.

She nodded, though it was clear that she was still immersed in thought. "Let's hurry, then," she said simply, and continued along the next hallway.

He didn't reply, just took hold of the rail again and followed her at a short distance towards Veda's room.

Something was amiss, she saw; there was a faint orange glow up ahead, tickling at the shadows. The restricted access doors were open. She could hear something chiming faintly, and with a start she realized they were alarms. She pushed herself off the wall, grasping at the doorframe before her inertia carried her inside.

"Tieria," she breathed, mind moving quickly. Turning sharply, she said, "We have to take him to the medical room."

Setsuna took in the opened doors, alarms and out-of-place light with a frown. "These doors shouldn't be open." He pointed out as he stopped next to Sumeragi. Hearing her command, he nodded once and pushed himself forward, floating carefully into the unknown room towards Tieria's seemingly lifeless body.

"How's his breathing?" she asked, glancing around at the patient alarms. Yes, something was wrong. She turned her focus back to Tieria; he seemed completely unresponsive, thought as to what had happened, she couldn't guess.

Floating next to the other Meister, Setsuna put his arm out, holding the back of his hand a few centimetres away from Tieria's mouth. He waited for a few seconds then turned his head towards Sumeragi. "It seems to be okay," He said, moving his hand to check Tieria's pulse. "...Do you think it's okay to move him?"

[identity profile] tipsytactics.livejournal.com 2008-06-11 02:16 am (UTC)(link)
"We're going to have to," she said gravely. "I don't see what else we can do." She extended an arm, intending to pull them both into the hallway. "Let's go see Doctor Moreno."

"Okay." Setsuna looked at Tieria for a moment, trying to work out the best way to transport him to the sick bay. Eventually he gently grasped his upper arm and pulled him towards the exit. Anti-gravity did have its uses.

After ascertained that Setsuna had Tieria stable, she drifted back into the hallway, grasping the automated handrail and watching the two over her shoulders. "Do you have him?"

[identity profile] doomedyouth00.livejournal.com 2008-06-11 12:01 pm (UTC)(link)
"I think so." Setsuna replied, although he wasn't entirely convinced. He was sure there must be an easier way to do this, but with Tieria being unresponsive, it was difficult to think how. He took hold of the handrail again and tightened his grip on Tieria's arm so he wouldn't accidently slip out of his grasp. "What should we do about closing those doors?"

[identity profile] tipsytactics.livejournal.com 2008-06-11 05:23 pm (UTC)(link)
She spared another glance for the ringing alarms and unnatural orange light. "I don't know," she said regretfully. "I can't operate it." The best they could do, she thought, was to worry about it later. A crew member might stumble upon the open terminal in the meantime, but she trusted they were trained enough not to interfere. "Let's go."

[identity profile] doomedyouth00.livejournal.com 2008-06-11 06:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Setsuna hesitated briefly before nodding. Tieria was very careful to always keep the restricted area just that, it didn't feel right to just leave the doors open like that. But if Sumeragi couldn't operate it, there wasn't much they could do about it. They would just have to hope that Tieria would understand when he woke up. If he woke up. Setsuna glanced at the other boy as he made his way down the hallway after Sumeragi. He didn't look good at all; his usually pale features were tinged an almost grey colour and there was a sheen of sweat on his forehead.

It wasn't a terribly long way to the sick bay, but in their nervous silence it seemed much longer. They didn't encounter anyone on their way there--likely a good thing, since in all honesty she had no idea how they would explain their limp, unconscious cargo.

Moreno let little surprise show; he had been a doctor for years now, and she was grateful for his composure. He insisted, though, that they didn't stay for long, so after a few minutes she found herself, along with Setsuna, back in the hallway.

That was that, it seemed.

Setsuna hadn't been surprised when he and Sumeragi had been ushered out of the sick bay. He trusted Dr. Moreno to 'fix' Tieria, as it were, and knew that there was nothing he himself could do to help now. There was no point in hanging around the sick bay pestering the doctor for updates, it made much more sense to return to his quarters and wait to be told.

He glanced up at Sumeragi, his expression blank as ever. She however wasn't hiding her concerned expression, and he thought he should probably say something. "...He'll be fine." He said simply, his level tone not betraying the fact that he wasn't sure he even believed his own words. It wasn't that he was overly worried about Tieria's well-being, but it was more then slightly unnerving that no one knew what had happened to him.

[identity profile] tipsytactics.livejournal.com 2008-06-13 12:44 am (UTC)(link)
She didn't like that her concern had been so obvious. Smiling (because she was the one who needed to be in control, and she had to let him see that), she said, "Of course. Now, we should go back, hm?" She resolved to act normally; there was no reason to let anyone worry unless Dr. Moreno determined this a serious case.

"I'm going to the bridge, alright?"

[identity profile] doomedyouth00.livejournal.com 2008-06-13 09:24 am (UTC)(link)
Setsuna nodded in acknowledgement. "I'll be in my quarters." He said shortly, before heading down the corridor away from the sick bay. There was no need to hang around, if Sumeragi needed him for anything she could call him to the bridge.
