Human beings are funny things, aren't they? They can be responsible for so much misery in the world, but at the same time, they can work so well together to change it for the better.

Oh, what I've seen in the past few days...

Ugly, terrible truths have come to light. But I have also observed teamwork, forgiveness, selflessness; so many good qualities and actions. It really is peculiar how such things can co-exist in one species. Maybe there is hope for them yet.

I would think it rather natural to include yourself in such a category. Unless you hold yourself apart from these qualities in some way, I would assume.

Each quality is not universal in all human beings - I was speaking of them as a whole. I know which qualities I do and do not possess.

I suppose this is just one of those cases where we choose to differ in our choices of grammar.
