the fourth.

The past few days have certainly been...interesting. While I am glad to be back to normal, there have been many things to think about.

The Porygon-Z form gave me superior data-handling capabilities. As such, I was able to work much faster on the community's security overhaul. Some of the time lost due to the community's inherent temporal anomalies has been recovered.

As an unrelated side-note, it also gave me superior individual defences. I am certainly aware that I am lacking in the area of physical combat. As a Porygon-Z, I was a capable fighter. However, this benefit would only be useful if I could assume the form at will - as it was a random occurance, at an inconvenient time, the positive qualities were somewhat diminished.

Nevertheless, when coupled with another piece of information I have come across, a small problem is presented. It would appear that the viruses are not all of malicious character, but are rather mostly chaotic. In fact, one such virus has apparently been responsible for saving a community member's life. Again, if such a thing could be predicted and controlled, the effects would be astounding.

I am still sure that this is the correct thing to do, however. After all, I was extremely fortunate that the change wrought on me by the virus was both short-lived and at a time when my abilities were not needed. And as for Setsuna...well. The mental problems were self-evident. If another virus like this should happen at a more desperate time, it could be catastrophic. I must continue.

Yes. While Sumeragi and I were changed physically, you suffered from some kind of memory loss, and replacement memories.

I don't like that these viruses play around with my memory.

Neither do I. It seems that there's nothing they can't affect.

When will your program be ready?

[identity profile] nonesodangerous.livejournal.com 2008-05-09 11:01 am (UTC)(link)
Hm. I'm not sure. Providing there are no further setbacks, it shouldn't be more than a month.

Hn.

Let's hope there are no further viruses until you are done.

[identity profile] nonesodangerous.livejournal.com 2008-05-09 11:45 am (UTC)(link)
Indeed. If we are fortunate, then that will have been the last one we have to experience.

Interesting one to end on.

[identity profile] doomedyouth00.livejournal.com 2008-05-13 10:52 am (UTC)(link)
...It caused me to forget about Exia and...other things. I would say that is quite bad.

[identity profile] nonesodangerous.livejournal.com 2008-05-13 10:56 am (UTC)(link)
Indeed, but there was no lasting damage.

[identity profile] doomedyouth00.livejournal.com 2008-05-13 11:03 am (UTC)(link)
I suppose.

One of the viruses saved someone's life?

[identity profile] nonesodangerous.livejournal.com 2008-05-13 08:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes. The "baker", Mr. Ryuuzaki.

[identity profile] shunraiken.livejournal.com 2008-05-13 08:52 pm (UTC)(link)
And exactly what happened?

[identity profile] nonesodangerous.livejournal.com 2008-05-13 08:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Mr. Ryuuzaki apparently suffered a fatal heart attack, but was resuscitated by the "fairy tale virus" after a month. He mentioned a "Snow White" strain.

Of course, whether the virus directly saved his life is a matter that must be further investigated, but if it is true, then things become rather complicated.

[identity profile] shunraiken.livejournal.com 2008-05-13 09:01 pm (UTC)(link)
That's certainly convenient... but it sounds like it might have been luck more than anything else. I doubt it would be possible to replicate those results intentionally.

[identity profile] nonesodangerous.livejournal.com 2008-05-13 09:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Hm. You say that, but if I can adapt and manipulate the security systems to pick and choose the effects of the viruses...I'm sure I don't need to spell out the benefits.

[identity profile] shunraiken.livejournal.com 2008-05-13 09:11 pm (UTC)(link)
I see your point. How do you plan to go about doing this, then?
