the sixth.

Returning the program to its correct state turned out to be easier than I thought. I suppose I should be thankful that the craftsmanship of "the other me" turned out to be so shoddy and easy to unravel. The program has been checked and rechecked, both by myself and the system I'm using.

...I probably shouldn't have wasted its processing on that, but I had to be sure. And besides, the program will protect it in the long run.

Apart from the setback caused by the virus, however, work was almost completed. In actual fact, the weeks worth of projected work will be completed in a week or so. If I aim to work even faster, then perhaps it will only be a few days. This is by far the largest program I have ever created: it has taken over two months of my time to construct. Time I am sure I could have spent doing other things. But nevertheless, it was important. This way, things will be much safer.

No more of those stupid viruses. Maybe now Setsuna will stop avoiding me. It's extremely irritating that I must search him out before I can tell him what to do.

A few occasional claims of a virus causing something beneficial. No hard evidence, of course.

Well, yeah, they're not so bad, sometimes, but I think people'll mostly be glad they're gone.

...of course. You're right. Besides, if I was to catch the wrong sort of virus at an inoppurtune moment, then things would go very badly indeed. I have a job to do, after all.

Yeah. An', like, I know it's not the same, but I almost missed enough school this year to get held back 'cause of viruses.

[identity profile] nonesodangerous.livejournal.com 2008-06-08 01:19 am (UTC)(link)
...they would be that annoyed about your attendance?

[identity profile] know-sacrifice.livejournal.com 2008-06-08 01:23 am (UTC)(link)
Well, there's, like, a limit on how many days you can miss before you get held back automatically. I mean, you can probably fight it if you can prove you're still keeping up with everything, but it's easier just to make sure I don't miss that many days.

[identity profile] nonesodangerous.livejournal.com 2008-06-08 01:27 am (UTC)(link)
How long would they hold you back for?

[identity profile] know-sacrifice.livejournal.com 2008-06-08 01:29 am (UTC)(link)
I'd have to repeat eleventh grade--or maybe just second semester, I don't actually know.

[identity profile] nonesodangerous.livejournal.com 2008-06-08 01:32 am (UTC)(link)
They would hold you back a whole year rather than supplying you with the information you missed? That seems incredibly inefficient.

[identity profile] know-sacrifice.livejournal.com 2008-06-08 01:34 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I know. It's stupid. But that's how it is, I guess.

[identity profile] nonesodangerous.livejournal.com 2008-06-09 12:46 am (UTC)(link)
It would make a lot more sense for you to--

--nevermind.

[identity profile] nonesodangerous.livejournal.com 2008-06-09 12:51 am (UTC)(link)
It doesn't matter. I forgot who I was speaking to. I am very busy doing the final checks, after all.

[identity profile] know-sacrifice.livejournal.com 2008-06-09 12:54 am (UTC)(link)
....Uh...huh. Okay, then.
