Returning the program to its correct state turned out to be easier than I thought. I suppose I should be thankful that the craftsmanship of "the other me" turned out to be so shoddy and easy to unravel. The program has been checked and rechecked, both by myself and the system I'm using.

...I probably shouldn't have wasted its processing on that, but I had to be sure. And besides, the program will protect it in the long run.

Apart from the setback caused by the virus, however, work was almost completed. In actual fact, the weeks worth of projected work will be completed in a week or so. If I aim to work even faster, then perhaps it will only be a few days. This is by far the largest program I have ever created: it has taken over two months of my time to construct. Time I am sure I could have spent doing other things. But nevertheless, it was important. This way, things will be much safer.

No more of those stupid viruses. Maybe now Setsuna will stop avoiding me. It's extremely irritating that I must search him out before I can tell him what to do.

So it's almost done! Oh, that's awesome!

I can honestly say that I'm relieved that its completion is approaching so quickly. I want these viruses to be over for good.

You and me and pretty much everyone else, I think.

I really don't know why nobody attempted it before. Perhaps it wasn't so important to them.

From: [identity profile] know-sacrifice.livejournal.com
Maybe no one could figure out how to do it!

Date: 2008-06-07 11:11 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] nonesodangerous.livejournal.com
...it isn't that difficult.

Date: 2008-06-07 11:14 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] know-sacrifice.livejournal.com
Well, I wouldn't even have known where to start, but I'm not much of a computer girl. Stick me in an engine and I can probably figure out my way around, but, like, computers and stuff? No dice.

Date: 2008-06-07 11:16 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] nonesodangerous.livejournal.com
There are other computer specialists on the community however, aren't there?

Date: 2008-06-07 11:20 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] know-sacrifice.livejournal.com
Yeah, I guess there are! I mean, I haven't really talked to any of 'em, but there's gotta be.

Date: 2008-06-08 12:45 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] nonesodangerous.livejournal.com
Well, it's hardly important now. The program is nearly finished.

Date: 2008-06-08 12:50 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] nonesodangerous.livejournal.com
...this is the correct thing to do, isn't it?

From: [identity profile] nonesodangerous.livejournal.com
A few occasional claims of a virus causing something beneficial. No hard evidence, of course.

Date: 2008-06-08 12:57 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] know-sacrifice.livejournal.com
Well, yeah, they're not so bad, sometimes, but I think people'll mostly be glad they're gone.

Date: 2008-06-08 01:07 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] nonesodangerous.livejournal.com
...of course. You're right. Besides, if I was to catch the wrong sort of virus at an inoppurtune moment, then things would go very badly indeed. I have a job to do, after all.

From: [identity profile] know-sacrifice.livejournal.com
Yeah. An', like, I know it's not the same, but I almost missed enough school this year to get held back 'cause of viruses.

Date: 2008-06-08 01:19 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] nonesodangerous.livejournal.com
...they would be that annoyed about your attendance?

Date: 2008-06-08 01:23 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] know-sacrifice.livejournal.com
Well, there's, like, a limit on how many days you can miss before you get held back automatically. I mean, you can probably fight it if you can prove you're still keeping up with everything, but it's easier just to make sure I don't miss that many days.

Date: 2008-06-08 01:27 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] nonesodangerous.livejournal.com
How long would they hold you back for?

Date: 2008-06-08 01:29 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] know-sacrifice.livejournal.com
I'd have to repeat eleventh grade--or maybe just second semester, I don't actually know.

Date: 2008-06-08 01:32 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] nonesodangerous.livejournal.com
They would hold you back a whole year rather than supplying you with the information you missed? That seems incredibly inefficient.

Date: 2008-06-08 01:34 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] know-sacrifice.livejournal.com
Yeah, I know. It's stupid. But that's how it is, I guess.

It would make a lot more sense for you to--

--nevermind.

From: [identity profile] nonesodangerous.livejournal.com
It doesn't matter. I forgot who I was speaking to. I am very busy doing the final checks, after all.

From: [identity profile] know-sacrifice.livejournal.com
....Uh...huh. Okay, then.

Have you considered parameters?

Date: 2008-06-08 10:21 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] breakhisknees.livejournal.com
Don’t you want to make sure that there’s a proper set of containment values?

Date: 2008-06-08 10:27 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] nonesodangerous.livejournal.com
Do you think the community obeys a certain set of containment values? Because it doesn't.

Date: 2008-06-08 10:41 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] breakhisknees.livejournal.com
We don’t have “com-pew-tres” at Headquarters, bellisima.

The spelling is computers.

...how do you access the community then, out of interest?

From: [identity profile] doomedyouth00.livejournal.com
...Did you want something?

Many somethings, Setsuna, but they have been dealt with.

Date: 2008-06-09 07:16 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] nonesodangerous.livejournal.com
Really, your attitude makes things highly inconvenient.

Date: 2008-06-09 07:24 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] doomedyouth00.livejournal.com
It's not like we have much to do at the moment.

Our other duties are still important.

So why do you make things so difficult?

It's up to me what I do with my time between-- when we're not busy. It shouldn't have any effect on you so you have no reason to complain.

Date: 2008-06-09 10:23 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] nonesodangerous.livejournal.com
I have reason to complain, because...

...because it feels like you're blaming me for something that wasn't my fault!

Date: 2008-06-10 10:57 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] doomedyouth00.livejournal.com
...Just because we were affected by a virus doesn't mean you're completely blameless.
