the ninth.

I find it a strange coincedence that so many of the people on the community should find themselves surfacing from a "family virus", at a time when our own family has so many problems.

Maybe it isn't a coincedence. After all, some of the more powerful members of my family have been named as the causes of various viruses. Of course, these claims vary in truth and intention, but nevertheless, maybe some kind of resonance has occurred.

Something else to investigate, then.

Resonance, hmm? That's certainly one of the more interesting theories I've seen put forth about this.

It's possible. Stranger things have happened here.

One thing that doesn't quite click, though, is the apparent lack of any sort of pattern in the false families. From what I've observed, while some of them were quite happy together, others had perhaps more problems than our own. If it was a sort of resonance, wouldn't they be one way or the other?

I'm not sure. The viruses frequently take on such varying forms within one incident. Would this virus, despite being caused by an unintentional resonance, be any different? The resonance could simply have been the spark.

There's far too much that we don't know about these viruses to really say, I suppose. It's quite possible for this one to have mutated past whatever its original form was.

Of course, it's also been pointed out to me that this could just be a simple case of us being affected as well.

That doesn't make sense. All the other families created by the virus are now dissolved. It stands to reason that therefore, ours is a real family.

Every theory must have its holes, of course. It's not very likely, after this long, I admit, but it's still something interesting to think about.

Um. You know, the answer might be closer than you think.

...just because of one incident?
timey_wimey: (.... ah.)

Do you really think that I'm responsible? What happened with SHODAN was her response to my actions. I haven't caused any viruses.
timey_wimey: (well...)

[personal profile] timey_wimey 2008-08-02 02:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, nononono, that wasn't what I meant! To be honest, it didn't even cross my mind.
timey_wimey: (swore I'm done with you lot)

You'll probably see yourself soon enough.
