nonesodangerous: (haven't had a dream in a long time)

the twelfth.

My head aches terribly. Again. And as for my nose...well. It hurts even more than my head. And there's blood everywhere. This is going to be somewhat difficult to clean up.

My movements are somewhat sluggish. My eyes hurt. There are some nasty pains in my joints from lying in the same position too long. However, there is nothing of concern that won't be fixed soon enough by a little exercise.

I need to make that post again, the one about the volunteers. I really do think it could work this time. But not today. I don't think I have the strength to deal with the logistics of it all. Maybe tomorrow.

Why did I collapse, I wonder? I suppose it could have been SHODAN, but...

...hm.

And I can't believe I woke up with someone else beside me again. Several someone elses, in fact. This is getting ridiculous.

And yet, the bells and whistle show before you disconnected didn't sound like your every day instance of passing out at a keyboard.

I've never had to clean between them myself, but I can appreciate the difficulty.

I think you'll find that most computers make error noises if you press the keys for too long. I don't think they notice what is pressing the keys.

Oh, of course not.

I know what it sounds like if you lay on the keys for too long, and that sure as hell wasn't it. There was something else to it and you're hiding whatever it is. It doesn't take a genius to figure that out.

And I suppose the sound is exactly identical across all worlds?

[identity profile] majorhacker.livejournal.com 2008-11-27 03:31 am (UTC)(link)
I never said it was exactly the same but....

If I hadn't replayed the recording a few times, I might be more inclined to agree with you. However, I highly doubt I was tricked into hearing a pressure-sealed door open after the ringing and before you were disconnected.

...yes, there is a pressure-sealed, normally locked door. The system is complex, and expensive. Not only that, but it doesn't like changes in temperature and humidity. I am the only one that knows the code for the door. However, in the event of an emergency, it will automatically open. I think it's easy to see why, after all, what would happen if it remained locked with me inside, unable to open the door?

I think you can see why I'm not exactly willing to broadcast the information. The last thing I need is somebody trying to steal my computer.

That does make sense....

My ghost is saying there's something missing... but I don't know what it is.

((Strike was thought better of and deleted.))

To cover something up that you don't want everyone finding out? It wouldn't be the first time.

What does it matter to you, anyway? We agreed that we'd stay out of each other's business.

Sorry, it's an investigator's habit. I'll try to stop poking around.
