He was fully aware that many people were taking it at face value, that people generally honestly believed it. And he was aware that Lockon had taken it very, very badly indeed.
Tieria also knew that nobody would believe him, or accept anything he could try and say to stop them from being upset. As such, Lockon was the last person Tieria had wanted to see in return.
